Eagle
Hollow Design, PLLC offers their clients superior service accompanied
with state-of-the-art analysis and design capabilities. We will offer
three-dimensional visualization services to reduce the possibility of
spatial conflicts with architectural elements and other engineering
disciplines. For established engineering and architectural firms in the
North East who require structural engineering and architectural design
sub-consultant services, Eagle Hollow Design, PLLC offers a competitive
and economical option. Projects may be delegated to Eagle Hollow
Design, PLLC directly or arrangements can be made to supplement and
assist their own in-house staff.
Our People Peter McCormack, Managing Director
Peter McCormack, P.E., has over twenty years of engineering experience. He began his career as a machinist, then earned an Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering. After
several years designing water works and other large municipal power
projects, he graduated from the University of Southern Queensland,
Australia, with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering. Peter
is licensed as a Professional Engineer in ten states, and is an active
member of the NCEES Structural Professional Engineering Exam Committee,
which is responsible for writing and grading the examinations used to license professional engineers in all fifty states.
Peter
has spent twelve years as a structural engineer at a major log home
company, and has particular expertise in both log and timber frame
structures, as well as hybrids combining solid wood construction with
structural insulated panels and conventional construction. He is a volunteer fire fighter in his home town, with special training in Hazardous Materials.
Mike Pomeroy, Project Engineer
Mike
Pomeroy holds an A.S. in Architectural Building Technology and a B.S.
in Architectural Engineering Technology from Vermont Technical College.
Mike went to work for Real Log Homes in 2005 where he started out as an
Architectural Designer. He then was immersed into the world of
structural engineering. He moved up to become the Project Engineer in
2007. He is currently pursing his PE licensure. Mike brings knowledge
in the areas of architectural design, log home construction,
estimating, and structural analysis to Eagle Hollow. Mike has had a variety
of design jobs, ranging from updating a 911 map for Oxford County where
he grew up in Maine. He has designed a combination fire station/police
station for Oxford County. Mike has also laid out plans for a
horse racing track, and most recently, has been designing log homes for
3 years. His interests also include, mountain biking, four wheeling,
snowmobiling, camping in Maine, and talking with the occasional
anti-Yankee fan.
Mike Korsak, Project Coordinator Mike’s
primary function as part of the EHD team is that of project
coordinator, but he is also an experienced designer of heavy timber and
timber frame structures. Mike graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Wood Products, Processing and Manufacturing option. He began his career designing, hand cutting, and raising timber frames with a small group of craftsmen. When
an opportunity arose to design heavy timber structures for a company
that specialized in state of the art CNC manufacturing of timbers and
steel connections, Mike jumped at the chance and ended up managing
commercial and residential projects as well as designing timber
structures utilizing a variety of connection methods.
